This afternoon around 4:00 pm Elverson EMS along with Glenmoore Fire Co., Uwchaln EMS, and Medic 93 from Brandywine Hospital were alerted to the PA Turnpike for a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle. Initial reports said that there was multiple occupants in the vehicle and that they may have been ejected from the vehicle. Uwchlan EMS units arrived on the scene first and confirmed the report and placed to air medical helicopter on stand by and shortly after requested one to the scene. Uwchlan EMS also confirmed that one person had passed on the scene do to injuries from the collision. Twin Valley fire Department was then requested for an addition rescue to assist at the scene and an engine to establish a landing zone. Elverson units along with EMS units from Honey Brook and Pheonixville arrived on the scene shorty after the Uwchlan EMS units. With a total of 8 patients the triage system was established and transport began of the injured to local hospitals. Two patients were transported via air medical helicopters and the others were transport via ground ambulances. According to PA State Police the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
