Elverson EMS would like to warn the community about the hazards in the community during the summer. Everyone in the area is very familiar with St. Peter's Village and the beautiful terrain that surrounds the village, however this terrain also presents dangerous hazards. The stream that runs on the south side of the village is a common place for outdoor enthusiasts to gather. The stream which has been running through the area for hundreds of years presents many obstacles such as sharp rocks, uneven terrain, and under water caverns. Throughout the many years people have been seriously injured and even killed by this terrain. It very important to make sure you have sound footing and have a partner with you in case of an emergency. The newest hazard that has been created is the waterfall on the north side of the village. This has become an exciting venture for outdoors people. This water hazard can be deadly in many ways. The pool of water at the bottom of the falls is extremely deep and there are many sharp rocks that protrude from behind the falls. There has already been two rescues this year in the village and we haven't even reached the summer months. Please be safe and avoid these tempting attractions.
