Robert A. "Bob" Hopkins, 80, of Elverson passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center. Robert was born on March 14, 1932, in Derry, Pa. He was the son of the late Milton and Abigale (Donovan) Hopkins. Robert was the husband of Shirley E. (Lyons) Hopkins, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Marine Corps. Robert was an electrician and was employed at Grace Mines of Morgantown and Bethlehem Steel of Bethlehem. Robert attended Hope-well Christian Fellowship Church and was a member of both the Morgantown Fire Co. and Elverson Ambulance. He enjoyed woodworking, glass etching and gardening. Two brothers and two sisters preceded Robert in death. He is survived, in addition to his wife, by a daughter, Cheri L. and her husband, Matt McGinn of Morgantown; and two grandchildren, Matthew R. McGinn and Stephanie (McGinn) Budd. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Hope-well Christian Fellowship Church, 2286 Hopewell Road, Elverson, Pa., with Pastor Mark Graybill officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Caernarvon Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., and 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at church.
